Michelle Hunter
Fort Dalles Pro Rodeo Queen

Michelle Hunter reigns as the 2007 Fort Dalles Pro Rodeo Queen in The Dalles, OR.  She also captured the Horsemanship, Appearance, and Personality categories.  Michelle is the 23 year-old daughter of Christine and the late Dave Hunter and is the oldest of three girls hailing from Sedro-Woolley, WA.

Michelle's passion for horses started at a young age. She grew up in 4-H, showing western and gymkhana and won the 2000 State pole-bending event. She even tried her hand at three-day eventing. As an FFA member, Michelle served as her chapter president during her senior year of High School and received her State FFA Degree and State Equine Proficiency Award in 2002. Michelle also played soccer, was a member of SKUDU (Skagit Kids Against Drug Use), and lettered in band and track. Michelle graduated in 2002, went on to obtain an Associates in Arts Degree from Skagit Valley College where she was also the assistant editor of the college paper. Currently Michelle is living in Ellensburg, WA to attend Central Washington University, where she plans to major in Communications. Michelle is a volunteer 4-H leader, coaches the 4-H State Horse Bowl Team and teaches lessons to children and adults to ride and care for horses.

Michelle has been involved in rodeo since 1989, whether serving as royalty, helping out or being a contestant. In 2001-2002 she served on the Sedro-Woolley Royalty Court and in 2004 she was crowned Miss PRO-WEST. For the last two years Michelle has ran barrels in the Professional Western Rodeo Association and also rides with the Skagit Rein Riders Ladies Mounted Drill Team along with her mom.   When not riding Michelle enjoys hanging out with her sisters, designing western clothes, collecting bling bling, jogging and listening to music.
