Scam

Sellers - While we are happy to provide this service please be advised that we are in no way liable for transactions. However, it has been brought to our attention that within the last week many of our sellers have been receiving the following message:

james_hosch0@yahoo.com Hello, I will like to purchase your item, after reading through the description of the item, I finally agreed on buying it from you , I will like you to inform me the method of payment that goes down with you but i prefer to pay you with a Cashier check ... I have contacted a shipping company that will come to pick the said item up and handle all the shipping processes. So you don't need to worry about the shipping....all i need from you is the final price of this item and your full name and contact address so that I can mail out the cheque or issue the Check to you for the payment . Regards.

In the past, users have received the following email or messages:

Hello,

I am interested in your advertised item below and i will like to purchase it. Please send me the actual price you are willing to sell it and the quantity available, so i could organise for payment and pick up .I will be paying with Money Order. Thanks. Reply me asap.Doris

Followed by:

Thanks for your response. Am only purchasing this item as a sample to add to my stock in my new store in Uinted Kingdom to improve sales status, so i will accept your preffered price for start. Am not presently in the US now, but i will be sending you the Money Order for the payment of this item asap: about the shipment i have someone in charge of that, he will be coming overthere all away from Uk to ship some of my goods in my home town in Texas, so he will come to your store or your house and pick it up once the payment is cleared: Hope the item is in good condition because i will like to come to you personally when am back to check out some other products to purchase to my store, so i will sending your money including the shippers money because i can not send the money order to him in United Kingdom,its only US. I will like you to do me a favour by dectucting your money and send the rest to him because i still have some shipment dues to pay him: so he can come and pick up the Dress. I hope to have a good business relationship with you and awaiting full name and address for the payment. Regards

There are several versions of this going around including scammers from Nigeria wanting to send you extra money and then having you send the extra back, etc. They are targeting direct sales people (Tupperware, Pampered Chef, etc) as well as classified ads in online newspapers and others. Believe me, no one in Nigeria needs a $3,000 leather dress or twelve pairs of colored Wranglers.
