When I moved to Iowa in 1996 I never dreamed the road my life would travel down. Due to a number of events and chance meetings I was approached to write articles articles about competing in rodeo queen pageants for LetsRodeo.com. The response was overwhelming! Unfortunately LetsRodeo.com was unable to continue their work. After the website shut down I continued to receive email asking for more rodeo queen information and that's when Mark and I began to explore having our own website. We started small and have had many changes since then but one thing still stands true - we love rodeo queens!
For over 16 years I've been involved with rodeo queen pageantry. I began competing in local pageants when I was in my teens but wasn't bitten by the rodeo queen bug until I entered the Miss Rodeo K-State (Kansas State University) pageant in 1988. After earning the title and competing for the National Miss College Rodeo title I set my goal to become Miss Rodeo Kansas. In 1990 I realized that dream and reigned as Miss Rodeo Kansas 1991. I was honored to be recognized as a top-ten finalist at the Miss Rodeo America Pageant. Since that time I have coordinated the Miss United Rodeo Association Pageant, judged numerous state pageants including Miss Rodeo Missouri, and the Kansas and Iowa High School Pageants, and am currently the State Delegate for the Miss Rodeo Iowa Pageant. Each year I attend the Miss Rodeo America Pageant where I work on the Media committee, helping bring Internet coverage of the pageant to you at home. I love rodeo queen pageants - the immense personal growth I see in the young women who compete for and earn titles is the best payoff!
